Head of Wellbeing (Talking Therapies)
Starting salary from £48,822 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum

Are you passionate about shaping mental health support and driving positive change? We’re looking for an experienced and clinically qualified professional to lead our Talking Therapies team within Student Journey and Support Services (SJS). This is a unique opportunity to influence wellbeing provision at a strategic level and make a tangible difference to students’ lives.
As Head of Talking Therapies, you’ll provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for a dedicated team delivering high-quality therapeutic support. You’ll play a vital role in managing complex cases, coordinating critical incident responses, and embedding best practice across the service. Your expertise will ensure safe, effective care and an outstanding student experience.
Manage, lead and inspire the Talking Therapies team, provide clinical oversight and guidance, supporting therapists’ professional registration and development.
Drive continuous Improvement and service development to enhance student wellbeing and experience.
Oversee delivery of therapeutic interventions using the One-at-a-Time (OAAT) model, and ensure that UEA is sector leading in its use of this approach.
Coordinate the support responses to critical incidents, working collaboratively across the organisation and with key external organisations.
Play a key role in SJS leadership by driving service-wide initiatives and contributing to strategic development. Represent the service in University projects to embed wellbeing principles across institutional priorities. Build strong links with the wider University sector and engage with local and national networks to share best practice and strengthen collaboration.
You’ll be accredited with a relevant professional body (or eligible for accreditation) and have substantial experience in therapeutic practice, including managing complex cases and risk. Strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and a deep understanding of inclusive, student-centred wellbeing are essential.
You’ll also bring excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, along with the ability to lead service development and foster partnerships across the University and beyond.

This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
